Long range laser scanning is ideally suited to the production of rights of light models where direct access to the properties under analysis is not always possible. Models are generated using a combination of simple mass modelling for the site, with all window and door openings shown for the surrounding buildings. If preferred, 2D information can be provided in a form of elevations, simple topographic survey and roof plans. Since at Topomaster we do not perform the ROL analysis, it is always advisable to consult with those who will, to ensure that the area to be tested is fully understood, that all buildings required are covered within the point cloud, and specification is agreed.
With regard to CAD models, our experience has proved that it is useful to include a Panoramic photographic tour of the site in the service order. This will provide you with an instant visual representation of the conditions of the site at the exact time of the survey. This is inexpensive to procure and will be both, more comprehensive and up to date than any online photographic information. Moreover, it supports the graphical information – Panotour.
